Capacity-building is the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources needed to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world. Capacity Building Programmes are important to update every teacher’s knowledge and skill and their ability to adapt quickly to changes in the education landscape. Harassment of Women in the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013

DAV Public School, SreshthaVihar, has always kept safety and security of its students and staff as the utmost priority. We organize training sessions for our staff from time to time to keep them updated and aware. A session was conducted on ‘Harassment of Women in the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013’ to empower our teachers for maintaining a safe environment to work, feel safe and give their best while working with all vigor and highest of their capabilities and, in-turn showcase the most ethical environment to our students.s

CBSE WORKSHOPS

DAV Public School Sreshtha Vihar, Delhi hosted a one-day Capacity Building Programme organized by COE CBSE, New Delhi on National Education Policy-2020 in the school auditorium. Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Centre of Excellence, Central Board of Secondary Education New Delhi was the resource person. The workshop created awareness among teachers about National Education Policy-2020 and guided them to comprehend its complexities, curricular changes, shift in pedagogical skills, and execution for the 360-degree holistic development of its stakeholders, the students.

SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON FINANCIAL LITERACY & USE OF DIGITAL TOOLS ORGANIZED BY CBSE FOR TEACHERS

A very relevant workshop on how to be safe against scams and online frauds, and how to improve savings was conducted by the very knowledgeable resource person Mr Ram Kumar. Teachers from the school and from schools in our hub participated in the workshop.

CAREER COUNSELING SESSIONS

Every student is different. In the 21st century, the list of career options is ever expanding. To expect a 16/17 year old to choose the right career path is a daunting task. Career counselling helps students assess their interests, personality, and character to self analyse and pick out the best career options for themselves. Recognising the relevance of career counselling. every year the school organises career counselling sessions with expert reosurce persons to help students and their parents move in the right direction.

An enriching Career Awareness Session by Mr. Ashish Jain was organised by the school for the students of Class-XII Commerce Stream. Mr. Ashish Jain is a Career Counsellor at Edu Mentor and an alumnus of the school. He guided the students about different courses to pursue after class XII. He also gave insights about various entrance exams including CUET.
"Big Career Guidance Fair" was organized on the 2nd of December '22 for the students of classes 11 and 12. Various universities like ICFAI, Alliance, Mody, MIT- WPU, Vidyashilp, Ajeenkya, K R Mangalam discussed about new age career options so as make students career ready and employable. Courses based on AI, Robotics, Design Thinking, liberal education were the key attractions among the students.
We organised a Session on the topic "How important is professional grooming and the tips to improve the same". The session was taken by Mr. Rishabh Chhabra, a marketing consultant from Culsac, a Digital Presence Management company. The session aimed at grooming the students, building their self-confidence, enhancing their self-esteem and overall personality.
Going abroad for higher education is the dream of many students. Mrs Meeru Anand’s workshop on study abroad was a wonderful chance for students to find out about admission to International Universities. It was an informative and helpful session.
A workshop to orient parents on ‘Stream selection and career planning’ was organised for parents of students of class X and students of classes IX and XI. The Resource persons were Mr Jitin Chawla, Founder-Director JCCCD, Career Counselling and study abroad center New Delhi, and Ms. Angana Bhattacharya, Head of Profile Building Team at JCCCD. During the interactive session parents and students were given insights about emerging career trends as well as the key factors to focus on while choosing stream and career.

SESSION ON INTRODUCTION TO POCSO ACT AND AWARENESS ABOUT BULLYING

A very appropriate and significant session on POCSO Act and awareness about bullying was conducted. The session empowered the students of middle and secondary classes about the POCSO Act.

WORKSHOP ON KATHAK

NEP 2020 talks about Experiential and Art Integrated learning. Acknowledging this, the school organised an invigorating kathak workshop which was attended by passionate students.

WORKSHOP ON RAINWATER HARVESTING

SDG 6 is about clean water and sanitation. The United Nations has sounded the alarm that world’s water related ecosystems are being degraded at an alarming rate. The impact that water conservation has on a sustainable environment is undeniable. It is necessary that school students, being the future of India, have to be educated on the importance of water and its conservation especially through rainwater harvesting. We, at DAV Public School, Sreshtha Vihar regularly conduct activities like slogan writing, poster making, painting etc to create awareness about water conservation through rainwater harvesting. In addition to this, an interactive, virtual workshop on rainwater harvesting was conducted where presentations, videos, discussion followed by suggestions created awareness about rainwater harvesting.

PRINCIPAL’S SESSIONS WITH PARENTS AND STUDENTS

Principal Mrs. Suhasini Khushinder Nath is always accessible. She frequently interacts with students and their parents. Low academic achievers and their parents need constant handholding. In a meaningful and on-to-one interaction, the Principal discussed the road map for the students to achieve their academic goals. She advised the parents to support their wards at home and to restrict their screen time.

concentrate on unit wise study

Special classes focusing on individual students to iron out their problems were arranged.

High achievers also got exclusive attention during special sessions. They were guided with special assignments to reach beyond their potential.
